What does a Nanny do?
Although it varies from placement to placement, most nannies provide in home childcare for the children. In addition to basic play and teaching activities, errands, and picking up children from school, nannies are often required to do light housecleaning and child related cooking and cleaning.
The family not only depends on the nanny to help the children through their daily routines but also to instill a sense of responsibility, discipline, and basic values. In terms of pay, responsibilities, and rewards, a nanny is much more than just a babysitter. Typically a nanny works five days a week with two consecutive days off.
What is required to become a nanny with Nanny Avenue?
Nanny Avenue requires that you:
- are at least 18 years of age.
- hold either a childcare qualification or have a minimum 2 years of practical childcare experience.
- hold a valid UK work visa or work permit.
- are committed to excellence (reliable and trustworthy, caring, compassionate, willing to teach, instills good morals and values, etc...)
- are committed to working as a team for the family you work for/with, providing a safe and stable environment that considers the welfare and best interest of the child/children.
How do I get started?
- To become a nanny with Nanny Avenue you can fill out the registration form on-line and submit it to our agency, alternatively you may do this when you come in for an interview.
- We will then review your registration form, qualifications and/or experience and get back to you as soon as possible to start the interview process. You will still need to meet all of our many requirements.
- We will also need your consent so that we may conduct all the necessary background checks thoroughly.
